New Property Project

As you are probably aware we have, for some time now, been on the look-out for a new property so we can expand in size. Being actively involved in creating a centre of this type will naturally result in our own spiritual development and will also ensure that we can offer the benefits we ourselves have found to the wider community. Ideally we are looking to find a property of sufficient size to allow us to continue with our current activities of providing a variety of classes and running the shop and which will also give us the opportunity to increase our activities as follows: -

  • Create a larger residential community
  • Be of sufficient size to allow more students to attend daily classes and day long and week-end retreats.  Our current capacity at the Compassion Centre is one room which holds a maximum of 40 attendees and this is limiting the number of people who can be accommodated and the number of classes we can run at the Centre.
  • Open a World Peace Café
  • Continue with and possibly expand the scope of the Shop

Our ability to create a community of this type will depend upon how many of us feel we would really like to actively participate in building upon what we currently have at the Compassion Centre.  We would be working together to create a flourishing new centre that will be open for everyone in the wider community to enjoy.   Naturally there are a lot of factors to consider prior to making decisions of this magnitude so what we are asking is that you give careful thought to what help you would actually be able to provide in helping your Centre expand and flourish. We now need to be able to gauge the level of support we could anticipate, which in turn will inform our decision in relation to the size, condition and value of property we can realistically achieve.  We also need to be able to ascertain the level of help and support we will receive in the day to day running and upkeep of the property so we are asking you to fill in the form provided on the following page so we can put together an action plan. Please understand that at this stage we are only asking you provide this information as a rough guide and before we ask anyone to “leap into action” we would naturally speak with each person individually to “iron out” the detail of exactly what they can and can’t commit to.  We really don’t want anyone to feel pressurised into feeling they need to do  anything more or feel guilty if, at the present time, they can’t commit to doing anything, we’re simply trying to get an idea of what help, if any, people can give at the present time.
