Welcome to Compassion Kadampa Buddhist Centre

We are located in South Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne and run meditation classes throughout the north east of England. We hope that this site gives you a little insight into what goes on at the Centre and the people involved.

Compassion Centre is a place where anyone can learn to meditate, discover how to apply Buddha’s teachings to solve their daily problems, and find lasting peace and happiness. Compassion Centre is part of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union.

Compassion Centre is looking for new property:


As you are probably aware we have, for some time now, been on the look-out for a new property so we can expand in size:

  • Create a larger residential community
  • Be of sufficient size to allow more students to attend daily classes
  • Open a World Peace Café
  • Continue with and possibly expand the scope of the Shop
